Group’s 2015 VBS takes kids on an icy expedition to Everest where they overcome obstacles through God’s awesome power. ARC will host this year’s free VBS June 1-5, 8:30 AM-12 noon for kids age 3 (before 9-1-2014) through grade 5. Sign up in the Narthex.
Each day, kids trek through field-tested activity stations with their Climbing Crews of kids and leaders. Every station is designed to reinforce the daily Bible Point in a hands-on, interactive way that keeps everyone engaged. Stations include Base Camp Sing and Play, Bible Expeditions, Kidvid Cinema, Imagination Station, Glacier Games, Mountaintop Treats, Summit Celebration, Preschool Peak, and Meaningful Missions. Directors are Leah Deutsch, Jana Zeutenhorst, and Becky Ossefoort.
A long standing tradition of ARC VBS includes the painting of nativity ceramic figurines. A child will complete a set by creating several pieces each year. Since these pieces will need to be cleaned ahead of time, set aside Wednesday night, May 6, to help. Shoeboxes also needed to store ceramics.
In addition, volunteers are asked to sign the sheet at the Narthex table to provide snacks and beverages for leaders and helpers. Later, a supply list on the Narthex table will request special food items for Mountain Top Treats.
Specific decorating items requested are wooden crates, ski gear, and sets of three small graduated size Christmas trees. Please call Becky first for details at 283-8600 to loan any of the above items. Join the expedition!
