ARC Quilters

The Quilters had busy fingers in 2015 producing a total of 223 quilts. They were delivered to the following places: Children’s Inn—29 bed quilts and 70 kids quilts; Union Gospel Mission—38 bed quilts and 31 kids quilts; Furniture Mission—28 bed quilts; Alpha Center—27 baby blankets. A special thanks to Justice for All and Redeemed Remnants for quilting material and Fey Industries for batting. If you are looking for something to do, come join us.

 


Sweetheart Supper

The SR RCYF Youth Group invites you to a Sweetheart Supper on Sunday, February 14, 6 PM in the Fellowship Hall at ARC.  Choose between pork loin or bacon wrapped chicken breast, plus tossed salad, baby red potatoes, vegetable, dinner roll, and dessert.  Cost is $25 per person with proceeds going to the youth mission trip to Michigan.  Make your reservations at the table in the Narthex.  Valet parking will be available at the west doors.


Ken Davis Concert

New Life Treatment Center will host a benefit featuring well-known Christian comedian, Ken Davis, on Friday, January 29, 7 PM at American Reformed Church Luverne. Join us as Ken provides an evening of entertainment and fun. Tickets are $18 or $16 for 4 or more, available at iTickets.com or the church office.

The Truth Project

Do you really believe that what you believe is really real? Focus on the Family has produced an incredible DVD series that will help you build a Biblical Worldview incorporating all aspects of life and faith. All adults are invited to view these challenging videos during the Sunday School hour and join in discussion groups to process and apply this important information. Class begins January 10 in the Worship Center and will be hosted by Ken Hup and Cory Grimm.

 


Keys for Kids

KEYS FOR KIDS  Family devotional booklets are available on the Narthex table. Keys for Kids is a quarterly publication filled with stories and activities that kids can readily identify with. It teaches relevant truths on a daily basis and helps them learn that success in life is directly related to obeying God’s Word.

 


Renaissance Group January Outing

RENAISSANCE GROUP (55+) January outing is Friday, January 29. A supper of BBQ’s, salad, and carrot cake will be provided in the Multipurpose Room at 5:30 PM followed by the Ken Davis concert at 7 PM in the Worship Center. Tickets are available in the church office for $18. Sign up at the Narthex table.

 


Financial Peace University

Tired of living paycheck to paycheck? Then it’s time for some financial peace in 2016! The Financial Peace course is a nine week study to help eliminate your financial crisis by handling your money God’s way. The 90 minute class will be held each Monday evening at 7 PM beginning January 25. Cost for the class is $99; partial scholarships are available. Prayer Ministry

PRAYER MINISTRY  Members of the Prayer Team are available in the Prayer Room (lower level, just south of elevator) before and after morning worship. This team desires to pray with you and for you. If you would like prayer, please feel free to join them. Prayer appointments can also be made if other days/times work better for you. December Consistory Notes

ARC Consistory met December 8. Marlene Aukes requested a transfer of her membership from New Life Celebration Church. Elders reported that 379 were served communion on November 29 and 384 were served on December 6. New officers were elected for 2016: Henry Sandbulte, Vice President; John Sohl, Clerk; Kurt Elbers, Chair of Deacons; Kent Vander Lugt, General Treasurer; Tom Nath, Benevolent Treasurer; Tom Ver Steeg, Building Treasurer; Mark Ehlers, Financial Secretary. The consistory approved a recommendation from the Discipleship Team to receive the children’s offering during the worship service rather than at Sunday School. In addition to regular consistory business, time was spent reflecting on the past year and looking ahead to 2016. Next Consistory meeting will be Tuesday, January 12.
