Adult Sunday School Class

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL

Understanding the Times and Knowing What to Do: In his book, We Will Not Be Silenced, Dr, Erwin W. Lutzer prepares you to live out your convictions against a growing tide of hostility. Gain a better understanding of nonbelievers’ legitimate hurts and concerns regarding issues like racism, sexism, and poverty—and identify the toxic responses secular culture disguises as solutions. In the process you’ll see how you can develop Biblical compassion and gentleness to those outside of the faith without affirming their beliefs. Join Pastor Mike on Sunday mornings at 11:00 in the Fellowship Hall, beginning Sunday, January 15  for a ten-week reflection on Lutzer’s book. To get a copy, sign up at the table in the Lobby.

Livestream Changes

LIVESTREAM

Starting January 1, the ARC worship services will be live streamed on YouTube instead of Facebook. Livestreams can be viewed at www.youtube.com/@arcluverne/streams. Users can subscribe and enable notifications to be notified when a live stream is happening. The livestream can also be viewed on our website at www.arcluverne.org, and on Roku devices with the Boxcast channel.

Thank You

Thank You!

The Connections Team would like to thank the Congregation for their generous support of the Neighbor to Neighbor Food Pantry. We gathered hundreds of food and nonperishable items November and December resulting in a well stocked pantry! It was very timely for our community with the Christmas Season and the inclement weather that we have had. We will be leaving one food basket out by the west doors so that you can continue to give as you would like. We will continue to post specific needs as they arise. We are still looking for a few volunteers to help stock the pantry from time to time. The time commitment would be minimal. If this is something you could help with, please let one of the team know. Team members include: Tammy Johnson, Dana Klay, Cassie Uithoven, Mandy Van Grootheest, Laura Zwaan, Vicki Altena, and David Sandbulte.

Talking Bibles Challenge

TALKING BIBLES CHALLENGE

A challenge has been extended to the Congregation to raise money to purchase Talking Bibles for India. From now through the end of the year, for each $50 that is given, a Talking Bible will be placed on the Christmas tree in the Commons. Donations can be placed in the offering plate or given at the table by the tree on Sunday mornings.

Using the Church

USING THE CHURCH

There are many rooms available at the church for life groups, meetings, Bible studies, family gatherings, etc. but the church building is also a very busy place. Please call the church office (507-283-8600) to reserve a space and do not assume that it is available. Also, just a reminder that kitchen items, tables, chairs, etc. are not to be removed from the building without prior approval. Please also ask permission before using items that are behind locked doors.
