Children’s Book

CHILDREN’S BOOK

Alliance of Reformed Churches Resource – Dan Schuch has authored a children’s book entitled “Mommy, What is the Bible?” Developed for readers ages 5-12 and illustrated by 20 individuals from eight states and 12 churches from the Alliance (including our very own Janine Brands), this little book seeks to help your child understand the importance of making the Bible their source of truth and guidance for life. To order a copy for your family, go to the Alliance website at www.arc21.org. A sample copy is on the table in the Lobby.

Food Drive for Rock County Food Shelf

FOOD DRIVE FOR ROCK COUNTY FOOD SHELF

ARC is assigned the month of August to help replenish the Rock County Food Shelf. A flyer is in your church mailbox with a list of suggested items. You may bring donations to the south entrance of the church or drop them at the east door of the Food Shelf, located at 208 W. Maple St., Luverne.

Monetary donations are also welcome and can be brought to the church office or put in the offering plate. If you have an abundance of garden produce that you would like to donate, drop off at the Food Shelf on Thursdays at 12:30 PM.

Thank you in advance for helping fill this need in our community. The Food Shelf is open on Thursdays from 1-3 PM, and also on the first Thursday of the month from 5-6 PM.

Neighbor To Neighbor Food Pantry

NEIGHBOR TO NEIGHBOR FOOD PANTRY

Thank you to everyone who participates in the ongoing food drive for the Neighbor to Neighbor Food Pantry located in the Luverne Laundromat. Each month we have a new food focus that we ask for, this month it is canned fruit. Each family is encouraged to bring ONE can of fruit EACH Sunday (or anytime during the week) and place it in the baskets located by the north and west entrances. With the church education year wrapped up and summer at our doorstep we have already noticed a decline in food donations. In order to be able to continue this community ministry we would encourage everyone to participate. It’s such a simple and impactful way for American Reformed Church to be a blessing to others in our community. Thank you!
